As reported late last year by EBN, the alliance does not include Rambus Inc., the Mountain View, Calif., chip designer that has been working with Intel for the past three years to develop Direct Rambus DRAM. That architecture was delayed twice coming into the market in 1999 and is just now shipping in desktop PC platforms.
