<What do you think it would take for Novell to communicate and market their technology advantage to both current and new customers? Would it take $20 Million or upwards of $100 million?>

What if you had the resources to put a FULL PAGE AD in the Wall Street Journal EVERY DAY, FOR A YEAR highlighting your press realeases, product plan, competitors security flaws, counteract your competitors misinformation, "dumb down" the explanation of why you are clearly better so every half-assed ananlyst could understand. etc.

What if you had the resources to buy a full page ad every business day for a year in the Journal and just went extreme every ad, highlighting just how great the product is.

What if you had the resources EVERY DAY to beat the business world about the head and ears, brainwash the bastards. Get people thinking about Novell in the Journal EVERY DAY, FOR A YEAR.

What if you had the resources to draw them a f****** picture everyday so that they could understand what was out there.

253 ads at $150,000(neg) $37,950,000
2 guys and 2 Macs + $ 175,000
Me, the creative guy $ 0 salary, pay me with stock

Total $38,125,000

Instant guerilla marketing, very cheap, please tell me the risk.

Change the ad every day. Make it different. Make it fun. Counter-punch with MSFT one day, extol our virtues the next. Technical superiority dumb-down the next, a picture of the NDS tree with cell-phones as objects the next. To justify the marketing money already spent on inferior plans, we'll agree to a "ROCK THE NET" watermark as a background layer for our ad layout.

Make people look forward to seeing what is coming the next day in the Journal from Novell. Instant platform (that will actually be read by PEOPLE) for rapid response to any MSFT smoke. (Don't laugh, an Arkansas govenor became President using rapid response). Get people used to seeing Novell in the Journal every day.

I am not kidding about this. This would really work and is so cheap, we use 1/3 of our interest earned this year. We communicate what our engineers have done, why do we want to buy someone else's business.
