Not so fast!! I havent made my mind up yet about Putin. Yep, he wants to restore RUSSIA (not necessarily the Soviet Union) to its former greatness. Is that a bad thing? I'm not so sure. Unless we wish to remain the ONLY superpower and be the Worlds Cop, wouldnt we be happy to SHARE this responseability? Like it or not, China is going to be a major superpower, probably within most of our lifetimes. Would we be better off with an European counterbalance? I dont know the answer to these questions, I do believe that a CAPITALISTIC Russia with a Democratic Government is preferable to a rabble rousing nation run by the Russian mafia. I think how Putin obtains his goal is important though. For instance, if he or his agents actually had something to do with the poisoning of the Ukrainian politician that would be a VERY bad sign. But, I am not even convinced that Russia had anything to do with that. Why, cause if truth be known, the fellow most of us are currently supporting here in USA actually wanted closer ties to Russia then the fellow that most of us believe the Russians are supporting. Now aint that a gas? jdn
