Daniel,

I believe your observations about the pain on the short side of your portfolio is exactly what's causing the meltup. If you look at the market on an individual company basis, it appears that the bear market continues among many "value stocks" and the melt up is happening in the overvalued momentum area where all the shorts are getting killed and covering. Even in yesterday's 250 point rally the breath was not too good.
