I think you are right. Any ideas about how to get them (Novell engineers esp) to get more involved and agressive in marketing and sales action?

I believe these people can win ... but they have to be fully engaged first ... seem to be sitting on the sidelines instead. At least it looked that way until the PR in the last day or two started to appear, I hope that we see an agressive marketing effort start with this year's Brainshare ... and continue for as long as it takes (probably years).

Even the people that are currently buying NT server for the first time can be (probably easily) persuaded that what they really need from a Server is Reliability, Availability, and Simplicity of use ... no OS that supports a user interface (like Windows) as it's primary function can match a dedicated server on those points.

Almost everyone that has used Windows has experienced system crashes, lockouts, unexplainable performance problems ... engineers are very credible when they explain to potential customers that PC resources being used to support GUIs and Video Games are not likely to be able to handle Server functions as an added task ... but instead be even more prone to the same problems that Windows users already know about. I would like to see this tried at the same shows where MicroSoft sales resps are handing out the 'demo CDs' of the type that Joe received ... would probably slow down or even stop completely the MS assault on Novell. Then show them a working NetWare with Win client at the same time ... a few graphs on performance, mean time to failure, etc ... MS doesn't have anything to respond with yet, they won't until after NT V 5.0 at least.
