One last (I hope my memory serves me completely right) of my conversation with Investor Relations at AXC this week. Usually I write it all down, as I did this week, but usually I don't lose my notes after talking to a company's IR! So sorry for the delay and many posts. Anyways, here was my forgotten question to her and her answer, as near as I can paraphrase:

JZ: What analyst coverage do you have at present?
IR: Well, some time ago when we were on the pink sheets three small regional market makers put out coverage on us, solely for their own customers. they are Dabney Resnick, Pennsylvania Merchant Group, and (I think it was) Genesis (something or other, I've forgotten for sure). Then there are 2 newsletters that cover us: Redchip REview and Individual Investor.

What I gather from this and my accumulated knowledge of what has made stocks work in the past (peter lynch writes about this excellently in his comments about The Limited and other up and coming growth companies that take forever to get popular) is that this small analyst coverage and small institutional buying bodes extremely well for AXC's near future. What you want to see is a fast growing company which picks up small boutique brokerage coverage, regional analyst coverage, and then hits the big one, a major brokerage house "Buy" recommendation, followed by others following suit. the buying stampede will make these couple day runups we've had this year look like child's play. so there are plenty of analysts to hop on board yet, very little institutional ownership yet(as far as she knew)and subsequently plenty of room for AXC to run.

Now about Barrons', can anyone comment any more? Is this just a mention in passing, one of 25 stocks mentioned in the article, or is it singled out for special praise or any specific details?

As for this rumored Maxtor contract, I would love to see the rumors cut and pasted here for all to see if any know how to do it. Could someone who has access and knows how oblige? Sure would be nice to see a big fat juicy rumor in print!!
