The REFR stock fraud... "olsok" - a retrospective

Perhaps one of the most amusing sideshows to the REFR stock fraud has been the rantings of a poster who uses the alias "olsok". Now that I've covered my short position, I thought it might be fun to do an olsok retrospective.

We begin in the spring of 1998. Olsok sounds pleasant, almost reasonable. He makes effective use of lower case letters.

Fast forward to winter 1998. Suddenly...olsok's tone changes. He starts to worry about short selling. He wonders how the shorts will possibly cover. He closes his messages with the all-caps slogan: "ENJOY THE RIDE!"

It's now summer of 2001. The stock just doesn't seem to be behaving well despite all the many, many news releases that RFI keeps pumping out. Who does olsok blame? Why, the short-sellers of course!

It's winter of 2001, and olsok is "feeling his power!" [No...I don't want to think about what that means.]

It's spring of 2002, and while REFR continues its plunge, olsok's capslok key suddenly becomes far more lively.

Summer of 2002. Olsok comes up with a novel theory: when it comes to REFR, as the price of the stock goes down, short-sellers LOSE money!

Here is how olsok responds to a poster who simply asks for information about purchasing SPD windows. If this is the way REFR markets SPD, then it's no wonder the stock is a little...ahhh...limp.

And here we have the latest flavor of olsok in all his capslock glory. In this charming post, he claims that information that REFR publishes in its own 10-K is a lie:
