Missing' ballots put supervisor in lawsuit BY WILLIAM YARDLEY wyardley@herald.com FERNANDINA BEACH -- Nassau County Elections Supervisor Shirley King says she is certain the 218 ballots missing since Election Day are in those sealed cardboard boxes just down the hall -- if only she could get in there and count them one more time. ``I can prove it if they'd just let me run the cards back through,'' King said Monday. But the counting is over for now. Instead, King found herself named Monday as a defendant in Vice President Al Gore's contestation of state election results. herald.com
