Les, The Washington Post and The Los Angeles Times are suing Free Republic, according to Salon Magazine, for copyright infringement.

Seems that Free Republic (described as "another right-wing bulletin board where Clinton-haters go to bond") does the same thing as WorldNetDaily --that is, cuts & pastes some items from the "mainstream press."

Of course, Free Republic is mounting a defense. The question is -- why don't the editors just post the URLs of the articles they cite? The answer suggested by Salon is that the Freers, to use their own term, dislike the mainstreamers so much that they don't want to do anything that might increase traffic to their sites. Could that be?
