Greenspan: A flaw in the model that I perceived is the critical functioning structure that defines how the world works, so to speak. Good grief.... Greenspan: Absolutely, precisely. You know, that’s precisely the reason I was shocked because I have been going for 40 years or more with very considerable evidence that it was working exceptionally well. What is he talking about? If we are going to go by his forecasting record, then he had very little evidence that "it" was working "exceptionally well." And looking at history--especially books that relate the Grand Delusions of human beings that at least some conservatives like to point to (and, frankly, so do I)--would have strongly suggested to him that his view of unfettered markets always go too far. But nevermind. I look forward to discussing this and the "left-right" business that Alter-Meacham began in you earlier post more after the election. My attention will be distracted for the next few weeks at least.
