Funny thing, the main point of the MSNBC piece was just the opposite, that they are trying to make the stock "artificially" scarce. This of course is ludicrous. The percentage in the float is still about the same and it is no less easy to trade it now as before the split. And as you say, there are a few more shares because of conversions. But they got money for those convertibles, they weren't distributed for free.

Everyone keeps looking for Machiavellian reasons for the stock moves, up and down. It's not that complicated. The stock went down because many thought they had no future. Now it's going up because many think they have a great future. The truth is likely in between. As you say, we shall see.
