With the exception of Comcast, the snippets aren't data, they are opinions and conjecture. How do you know improvements in earnings aren't due to layoffs or cuts in IT spending? Would also like to note that bottoming is not the same as turning. We could easily drag along the bottom for months or years. In fact the economic data suggests just that.

Comcast may have gained subscribers because more people are at home to watch TV, because they are now unemployed :o(

Show me some DATA, any legitimate data, that indicates the cycle turning up. How about increasing IT spending, Increased PC sales, increased Cellphone manufacturing orders, etc. I'm watching for that data and am not seeing any, but can show a heck of a lot of economic data that says all those guys you quoted are probably overoptimistic.

Most of the various tech inventories are taking a heck of a lot longer to burn off than initially expected, despite massive writedowns. Gives a real good idea as to what has happened to end demand in the last few months.
