Personally I'd have thought Palin'd have been politically crippled by the exposure she's had: but I hardly fit the profile of her target voter (even without the fact that I'm not a US citizen <g>). So they might be sufficiently enthused to push her chances onwards.

I do notice though that it seems a while since a sitting Senator has successfully run for President... my personal memory only goes back to Carter, but I think Nixon would be the last? I can certainly remember a good few being defeated.
So she might not choose the Senate; wider policy exposure does not IMO seem to be her chosen ground.

I asked on another thread but never got an answer - is Senator seen as more "senior" than Governor? I mean, there are more of the former, and they're not wielding executive power, nor are they directly responsible for policy: but they do seem to be placed formally higher.
