Matt, note that the June issue came out about 5 weeks ago. The July issue in many of the PC mags have the new dell ads with s3 in about 6 out of 10. The top row which used to be all matrox is 3/5 s3 and the bottom is the 3/5 s3 as well. This goes in line with the recent annoucement of the s3 win in the dell. quite simply, get a more current magazine. As well look in PCMag which has reviews of top 10 this and top 10 that. I believe 4 or possible 5 are s3 powered. There are two components to success, performance and price. S3 has the lead in the combination of the two. As well, note that S3 is winning major designs right on the motherboard of many of these companies. The fact that you think CRUS is leap froggin ahead indicates you have not done your research. CRUS has very little market share in 3d and their 2d, they ar giving away for free to maintain market share. CRUs has serious troubles, avoid, unless they come with a new technology. They will be unable to compete in s3's market. I dont know any other graphics vendor with 50-65% relative market share in 2d/3d. Clearly matrox has great technology in upper end. But they dont have the production capacity or margins to bring that product into low end without giving it awayfor free. As well, S3 is moving soundly in to the mobile arena and audio arean. The recent deal w/ Faroudja should set the pace for the graphcis arena for a year or so and give s3 a boost to earnings next year. Go ahead and buy crus or rendition, id be glad to sell it to you as long as you sell me some s3. Regards, Steve
