Let me give you my opinion on this. This post is not directed at you Lance, but to anyone who feel the end of the world is coming, or is feeling very unsecure as to what might happen.

Remember what your president, your ultimate leader said: "We will show the world that we will pass this test"

The United States are the number 1 country in the world, and like every number one, they are the ones who have the most enemies, because so many would like to be at the top.

What the United States are going to do, imo, is surely not nuke a whole country just to get their revenge. As number 1, the United States have to show leadership. They will show that they are not sick like the terrorists who did those terrible things. The United States, will not, without any doubt in my head, kill innocent people. So, to say they will start firing missiles left and right to wipe Irak or Afghanistan from the map would be just plainly false.
The US, and all other countries on the planet, now have responsibilities towards innocent people. Times have changed since the Second World War, and bombing innocent people will not happen again. IMO, the US won't do it anymore. They will find another way. The US have to show that they're smarter, that they solve conflicts without killing innocents. And they will.

Instead of tearing each other up like I've seen in the last 24 hours, let's follow the lead of the people who lead your country. Let's follow their example. Those people are the best to be doing the job, and they are sure not panicking. Only minutes after the first plane hit WTC, the United States government was already in track to implement one of their back up plans and keep working effectively for the country.

The United States had a serious lesson from Pearl Harbor, and they are for sure tremendously better prepared to an event like this one. Of course this is a serious hit, but the United States won't fall just for that. It is very sad for the numerous people who perished during those attacks, and their family and friends, but the rest of the country will get together and stand proud after everything is over. Follow those leaders, who were able to keep their head cool while this was happening. As an example, just remember the mayor of New York city, who said he knew a lot of people among the policemen and firefighters who where inside the south tower when it collapsed. He stayed cool about it, he did not panic. Again, the people in those positions, not just NY city but at the head of the country, are simply the best. They have been trained to such events, and the country of the United States has learned and will keep learning from its history.

I was very "happy" to see that many people in NY city rallied and worked together to help those in need. I remember a construction yard worker saying something like "we're going to help, we'll do whatever is necessary to help people out" while he and many others were walking towards the scene as a group soon after the tragedy. The 6-7 hour lineups of people giving blood to save those injured was really great to hear about as well.

We all know terrorists were able to hijack 4 planes without the US intelligence knowing it. We had to expect that one day something like that would happen. There were other incidents and attempts like that in the past. For example the bombing of the WTC in 1993 and the bombing of the 2 embassies in 1998. The US are a target for being number 1, and they are for sure doing everything they can to protect their people. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they have a 24 billion budget to prevent things like that from happening. Now we see one of their failures, but I'm convinced we did not hear about it every time they saved people's lives. Now that is has happened, people will just be even more careful and watching for each others, and security will be increased everywhere to ensure people's safety.

If you have to remember one thing, it's this: "If it doesn't kill you, it will only make you stronger". The US will pass this test, and they will find who had the balls (and stupidity) to organize something of this magnitude. And like George W. Bush said, they will bring those criminals to justice. If the States are to declare war to a country in a few days, they will fight that country's soldiers, and not the civilians. That terrorist act was directed towards civilians and military people, but the US, as a leader will not get a revenge by doing the same thing.

By fighting each others, you would just do exactly what those terrorists wanted: pushing the Americans to hate each others and burn themselves without the help of any other country attacking them. Stay together, and support your country. SHOW THOSE TERRORISTS THAT AMERICANS ARE NOT EASILY INTIMIDATED. Follow your leaders. The democrats said they would support the republicans in this time of crisis. Follow their lead. It is for sure not the time to fight, it's the time to work together.

The above is just my opinion, and I encourage you to think again before telling names to other people. It's time to unite, not to fight each others.
