Florida has an anti-gay marriage amendment on the ballot next week. This sad story is in the Palm Beach Post this morning: palmbeachpost.com A woman reported her longtime partner missing to the police. The police found the partner dead in her car, apparently a murder victim. As is their policy, they notified the NEXT OF KIN of her death. Usually they have people trained to do this kind of stuff. They did not inform the deceased woman's partner, who learned of the death from reporters. Later that afternoon, the police found the deceased woman's partner dead in her back yard ... looks like a suicide. If it had been legal for them to marry in Florida, the partner would have been next of kin and a suicide may have been averted.
