Oh really? Here are your original statements, cut and pasted as an unedited block from your post, cited below, which you are laboring to propound as the absolute, factual, historical truth:

When Nixon lost he gave his "Checkers speech". No one likes a loser, and Gore acted like a loser, not unlike Nixon once upon a time.
But who would have thought that Nixon could become the phoenix rising from the ashes? If this does not make my point about the fickleness of the electorate then nothing will.

I asked before whether your statements as quoted above are true, and to fill in the missing information about what political race Nixon lost to inspire the Checkers speech, when it was given, etc. Since then, you've refused to answer and dodged the question.

Where did you learn your history, Orky? The former Soviet Union?

This was all asked in the broader question of why the dems abandoned Gore this time around, after their dragging the country through hell in '00 over the election and claiming he's the rightful President. They should be running Gore for re-election, right?

Please answer the Nixon questions, first, though, because that's what you rested your case on.
