it was shown on Wed on PBS: MTA of new york city, Washington DC, San francisco, portland ... bought subway wagons from manufacturers then sold to the bank(s) to get back their outlay capital, then leases the wagon from the bank(s). The bank(s) pulled together, securitized and sold by tranch to hedge funds and foreign banks and foreign investors. Now the insurance companies got into the picture: they collected a premium to insure these tranches !!! if they go under !!! there is no public transportation in those big cities !!!!!!!!!
