Perhaps no use of wmds by the iraqis as quid pro quo? Perhaps syria and/or iran agree to turn over wmds? Perhaps russians get a pass for its role in iraq? Perhaps saddam doesnt spill the beans on Russian role? Perhaps incriminating files embarrassing to the french disappear? Perhaps much bloodshed is avoided? It is as interesting an explanation for the complete disappearance of the regime as any of the others. A few nuts left causing trouble. Big cities in the North falling like dominoes.
Of course forget all this if he shows up in Tikrit for a last stand or the bodies of the leadership are removed from the wreckage in baghdad. mike
