speaking of the flag... beautiful scene here tonight, was just driving over the mighty columbia river, crossing from oregon into washington...sun was setting in the west, had my radio on and was just pondering all these events - a few cars passed by with flags on them, ribbons tied on to the antennas etc etc...started getting moist eyes ( and i'm already a big-time homer ) - anyway, as i crossed under the over-pass on the washington state side, i looked up and a big group of youth were standing on the street all waving large american flags and holding USA signs...i pumped my fist in the air and honked the horn - immediately thereafter, the song "and i'm proud to be an american, where at least i know i'm free..." came on and it was just an overwhelming feeling...i thank God for our countless blessings, and i prayed once again, for the peace and comfort to come over those that are so deeply affected - and i prayed that we might be guided in our attempts to "whip" terrorism once and for all and protect "future generations" as our president said... anyway, just feeling really grateful tonight, it is powerful to see the uniting that is happening here in the northwest, and i can only assume nation and world wide... and a shout-out to our trading friends up north: thanks for your support and words and prayers...for all of our joking around between the two countries, it means much to those of us here to know you stand w/ us - and i say this to all of you out there world-wide...thank you
