I think the republicans have much better women out there, and I hope some of those women are going to come out and demand they be given a chance. Palin is like a road accident- at first glance, as you drive by, you can't help looking, but as the bits and pieces start to come in to focus no one, except those with really strong stomachs, are going to want to keep looking.

I think that's what the poll numbers tell you. No one really wants Jane Doe, sportscaster and snowmobile saleswoman, as president (well, no majority want that). I can see how she won the PTA, and even the mayorship- but the people of Alaska are going to regret (I think) making her governor. I kind of wonder what Alaska is going to look like after she's done with it.

Time, I think, will not be kind of Ms. Palin. But hey, maybe I'm wrong. If she comes back in 2012 I'll be happy to admit I was wrong. But my crystal ball says the conservative bus will move on, and Sarah may be under it...
