What you are looking for is a global variable to use.
unfortunately, the design of the scans are such that a global cant exist..

for example it would be nice to say...

global_integer c1, c2, c3;

if close(0) > 0 then
c1 := c1+1;
......................

While I am at it.. Has anyone tried to use the NOT operator??
I can't get it to work even when typing in the example verbatum..
Using the Not operator is actually a work around because I really needed to use the <> not equal relational operator that most languages include.

if open(0) <> close(0) then....// this excludes issues that didnt trade...
