Interesting note on Drug Sector was upgraded today. Most large cap drug firms were up a point or more except AHP which was down -1 1/4 to $38 a fifty two week low, and intraday low of $36 1/2.FYI

RESEARCH ALERT -Drug stocks recommended after drop CHICAGO, Dec 27 (Reuters) - ABN AMRO analyst James Keeney said Monday he sees a buying opportunity for high-quality drug stocks, following an 11 percent decline in 1999 in the sector. -- said ABN's core drug index of eight multinational drug companies was down mostly because of Medicare concerns and a flow of funds to the technology sector.
-- said final Medicare proposal for prescription drug coverage for the elderly will "be more to the industry's liking than previous proposals - and still probably two years off any enactment."
-- said top picks are buy-rated Bristol-Myers Squibb Co; outperform-rated American Home Products Corp. ;a merged Pharmacia & Upjohn Inc. ; and in the small-cap area, Maxim Pharmaceuticals Inc. .
