andrew..let we rephase the questions so you can have a clue..

cpq has already had low and mid and high end servers so you mean workstations for midrange..right??

cpq just doesn't have a super server yet...

and your tpc-c it's a benchmark..

Thw Win NT is eating into the unix. engr apps first.
Fourthshift has full ERP on Win Nt next yr..but most ERP's
are not til '98 and '99 for the biggies.
this is going to hurt oracle and sap applications
not the oracle databases.
What the articale could be sating and I'm going to read it is..
TPC-C is a higher level benchmarch and would apply to servers more powerful than the full up proliant 5000's..
maybe it pushes the 5000's higher.

the proliant 5000 is thier high end server. I noticed the config on that baby too. you don't want to know what that cost but they make a ton of profit on it...that was the benchmark results..

question and no help from the audience and maybe ou saw this..

What does a proliant 5000 server cost when you order it config'ed and rack mounted???
