It's significant that Be and NeXT both created brand new OSs from the ground with a minimal amount of employees.

It's almost unbelievable that Microsoft has made virtually no attempt to create a revolutionary new OS. There is nothing stopping them except the fact they want to squeeze every penny out of their minimal work.

Jobs on the other hand really, sincerely wants to change the world.
