if I were to place a bet, which I wouldn't, I would bet on a shiite theocracy, and some really major bloodletting in the way of Shia retaliation for Suni violence leading up to this "election". I think Iraq will be ungovernable unless a real strongman takes over, and that if they find someone strong enough to govern the country, with borders as they are now, there will be internal killings, and repression even worse than what we saw under Saddam.

My runner up scenario is civil war. I think scenario number one works better for the Iraqis, but neither scenario works for the US- although scenario number one might at least allow oil production to continue.
