I realize national health care is not perfect. I do think it is better than no health care unless you are insured. There are a lot of unemployed people in their fifties in the U.S. now who were highly paid workers before they lost their jobs in the last recession, and studies are showing they are much sicker than insured people when they finally go to the doctor, so their care is more expensive, and of course their bodies are damaged and life spans compromised. That is a pretty high price to pay. Are there any private doctors in Canada? In most countries with universal health care, there are options for the rich who want to pay more, but at least everyone is covered for basic services.
