Even though I believe that the U.S. is responsible for what will probably be our total failure there--a civil war and the rise of some sort of conservative Islamist society--I also believe that the Taleban/Bin Laden types are making hay while the sun shines, taking full advantage, so to speak. It is hard for me to imagine them driving our troops out and then holding open and fair elections, really. What do you think?
