You'd think it would be pretty bad. Now my ankle hurt a lot
at first. But my knee only hurt a little even though it was a
very severe injury.

Now THAT is WEIRD. Fewer pain receptors in the injured area is all I can think of. What did the docs say about that?

Now when they did the knee surgery it was a different story
all together. That began the 5 most painful days of my life,
bar none.

And, of course, you had pain medication. And it blocked some but not all of the pain. Definite improvement in drugs needed here.

I think. Maybe. Maybe not. Pain is a warning signal. For years after I hurt my back, I wouldn't take painkillers for it. That pain was the warning sign I was doing something wrong and STOP IT!

Without the pain, a lot of people think they can do more than they really should.

It's been about 2 1/2 days since my ankle surgery. It's been
sheer hell. It still doesn't come close to what I went
through after my knee surgery.

Good luck, buddy. Keep us informed on how you're doing.
