No, I wasn't meaning to suggest that. Only giving it for comparison purposes.

I disagree. I think the consensus view is that had we maintained a troop presence ISIS would still not be a problem today. The problem, at the end of the day, was that Obama didn't understand what was at stake. I think there is little doubt he would like to have a do-over on it, and if he did we'd still have troops there today.

I'm sure all of us are guilty of that to an extent. As you are no doubt aware, I was a supporter of the Iraq War and I still believe it was better than maintaining the status quo ante.

But I do have a different attitude about wars, generally, from the one I had before these two wars.
