HP Dell reports:

Just as we've conjectured their unit sales are generally up with little profit.

Hewlett-Packard 1Q Net Up 25% (WSJ)

If you read between the lines it seems their consumer/laptop/desktop and printer units are all struggling to make any profit. AND I don't think HP is big in the netbook market it it?

H-P's operating margin rose to 9.6% from 8.7%. In the face of falling PC prices, H-P has tried to maintain its profit margins by putting the squeeze on suppliers.

Revenue at H-P's printer unit, which has concerned some analysts as consumers and businesses scale back, grew 3.8%, although profit declined 4.6%.

Interesting that Apple exited the printer market long ago.

DELL on the other hand is pretty deep into netbooks:

Dell expected to post lower earnings, but higher sales

HP is eating Dells lunch in the more profitable enterprise area?

Meanwhile Apple's overpriced and underpowered products continue to doom them.
