Anecdotally, I have noticed that where once there were pallette size stacks (2 pallettes worth) of x2 modems at my local CompUSA (Woburn, MA), now they are simply displayed on free standing island shelf, with adequate numbers of each flavor. The k56's are not as many, but they have a fancier motif, with plenty of POS display literature. Revisits don't seem to show any replenishments of the k56. I have seen the x2 shelves restocked. It seems that the x2's are moving from my spotty observation, and the k56's not as much.
