The snipe at Clinton was in very poor taste- people often appreciate a little "I feel for you" when they are going through a miserable patch. No one really wants to KNOW you don't feel for them, even if you don't. (I used you, but of course I didn't mean you, Grainne).

On the other hand, I hate to see the aid thing turned into a negative, and I hate to see it politicized. It really isn't something that needs to be, or even lends itself to being, politicized. You really have to strain to make this a political football (imo), and although we could say the initial speech should have been made sooner, and it should have been more generous, I'd like to see a focus on the positive, since there is SO much other negative stuff to focus on with this administration.

Does that make sense?
