Prime Minister Justin Trudeau: Canadians are getting a hint of what’s to come post-prorogation. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau framed the pandemic as an “ unprecedented opportunity” for a reset that he said will create a “ greener and more competitive” Canada. Newly-minted finance minister Chrystia Freeland followed that up with a pledge to do “whatever it takes to support Canadians.” She also said de-carbonization has to be part of the economic plan; adding “I think all Canadians understand that the restart of our economy needs to be green.”

We’ll explore the potential costs this morning with Parliamentary Budget Officer Yves Giroux, and Tara Weber will gather reaction from Albertans on Freeland’s plan for de-carbonization. BNN.ca
