sound-specific CPU or sorts (DSP?)."

Chips like the 10k1 are DSP chips, but specifically designed for audio , so various unnecessary features of a general purpose DSP are left out while more specific features for interpolation and whatnot are inserted. I visited the E-mu booth at NAMM today and the rep told me their card will be available in April 15, so I guess the Creative one will come out either a few weeks before or after that.
