That's no substitute for an explanation. If you won't explain it, most likely you can't explain it.

If you have a heart attack because you overeat and are obese chances are good that science, technology, and good heath care (along with rehab ) can keep you alive. If you reform and do not repeat your mistakes you can die a natural death from old age.

If you practised good health all along, you will eventually die of old age.


Can't quarrel with that assertion. Makes a fine opening. But where's the rest of it? The question on the table is how the person dying "from old age" saves health care dollars over the the person who dies early.

I am going to take a shot at that.

Until you offer an answer to that question, you haven't taken a shot, you've merely opened the gun case.
