Thomas, although I am south of the border this type of approach to ATM lider, is absolutely unacceptable.

So many vendors claim they have the highest capicity switch, but in fact most of them can not guarantee it across all type of application available via ATM infrastrucure(FR,X.25,ADLS,LMDS etc.)Many off them can not even provide full range of services. The highest capicity is in many cases available only with certain application.
Thake FORE, it claim 40 Gbit/s one-way but in fact they privide only 10 with 40 later:

One reason is that ATM switches have very high capacity. For example, Fore offers a
10
Gb/s switch today, and a 40 Gb/s version will be available in August.

NN has been providing 12.8(noe-way)across all type of applications(Guarantee) for some time. In the mid of this years will ship 51.2 Gbit/s thrue capicity.
Press may not note this , but telcos(very educated customers)will notice this, I should say have already noticed. The new switch will be availably on summer, so now is been tested by large service providers.
Ref. the last NN's CC.

Zbyslaw
