Charles,

From my perspective: We all live on a planet zooming through space at 78,000 mph, rotating at 25,000 mph, which has endured far greater climatic change in the past than anything we are currently discussing.

Ground penetrating radar from satelite imagery has discovered river beds under the Sahara. They have found seashells at 12,000 feet in the Andes and elsewhere. There is a layer of Iridium that blankets the entire globe dated to 16 million years indicative of a massive meteor strike. Krakatoa erupted and darkened the skies in Europe for several years which caused people of the time to refer to 1883 as the year without a summer.

All of the events above are examples or indicators of events far more powerful and lasting than anything that mankind has yet perpetrated.

Some say that the earth has been shifting from extremes of heat and cold for thousands of years. There are indications that the earth's magnetic field has undergone dramatic shifts as well.

So from all of this can I tell you mankind isn't creating the circumstances of global warming?? Nah... But I can tell you that Mother Nature has perpetrated far more catastrophic damage, yet still eventually balance (if only temporary in geologic terms) will find its own equilibrium.

PS: I can't help pondering the environmental impact that must have resulted from large amounts of Methane eminating from the proliferation of prehistoric herbivores.

Where was DHEC then??

Regards,

Ron
