With regard to Donald Trump and his references to Pres. Obama’s “Birth Certificate”, I happened to watch one or two TV interviews with him on this subject.

Now it seems to me that there are at least Two things to consider here ...

1) Either his reference to a ‘proper’ Birth Certificate is valid, or it isn’t.

2) Is it a constitutional requirement that the President of America has to have been born in that part of the world that belongs to the USA, or isn’t it.

No doubt many of those who favour Obama will probably regard Trump as someone who is talking a load of horse manure, while those who don’t favour Obama will probably think the opposite.
But, IMO, that is really irrelevant.
What should count is the Truth of the matter with regard to items (1) and (2) above.

I think it’s probably unlikely that Donald Trump would have made these ongoing references to the validity of what Obama has presented, with regard to his actual place of birth, if he didn’t believe that there was some merit in his argument.
Because if it eventually transpired that he, Trump, had been mistaken all along, then he would really look stupid (probably more so than his detractors believe him to be !!).

In his interviews Trump refers to a document that he has, and which he believes each and every American, in his opinion, should also have, that authenticates the birth place of himself and others. All he asks is that Obama produces the self same type of document.

If Obama has already produced that document then Trump should cease his ongoing inquiry and shut up on the issue.
If Obama hasn’t, and this is a document that he should produce, then Trump is surely within his rights to ask for it, bearing in mind the requirement in terms of (2) above.

This shouldn’t be a partisan issue as to who is for or against Obama or Trump.
It should be about what are the Facts and what are the Requirements.
