Hi Rob.
In the last sentence of your message, you said that there would be no hard choice to be made concerning Cyrix M2 and AMD K6 to be excellent Intel alternatives. BUT which one to choose. AMD K6 or Cyrix M2. Hard decision? Of course. They are both very similar in architecture.
The advantage for M2's 225 Mhz version would be its 75 MHz bus.
The advantage for K6 would be its complete compatibility with Intel's MMX since AMD licensed the MMX technology directly from Intel.

Still, which one to choose?
