Bush Plugs Useless, Dysfunctional SDI Today, despite waste of tens of billions of dollars on the boondoggle. Also cut down several large old-growth forests in Alaska to build it. SDI does not work, may never work and has no credible threat it's targeted against. Kerry warned Bush before 9-11 that the reasl #1 threat to America was from small terror cells slipping into our country, not from anything SDI could defend us against.
