I think the key is "time without the kids." So, I'm running interference behind the scenes and having her friends call for dinner and coffee dates. She'll feel more comfortable saying "no" to them (not the obligation) if she doesn't want to go and yet - the activity option is there. As gay as this sounds I've talked to her about taking a trip to the Homeland (Ireland) in fall. She wants to but she said she's kind of afraid to fly (that far). I told he I wasn't afraid to fly - I'm afraid to crash....for some reason that didn't comfort her.
