Shane,
Thanks for the good links....I hadn't seen that Nov one at all. Coming this quick the GMR thing would bring up some issues getting the signals processed.

True but the flip side is you can switch brands in a minute.

My fall expectations depend on a couple of things. First I think production will bounce back quicker than folks are anticipating. Inventories really did get whacked last quarter. Second is that WDC won't stub their toe getting new product into production. I've got a little money on that anyway, and a little on QNTM and even a little less on SEG. (On HTCH I got a whole lot, but that's a different story).

I don't know about the capex. Reason would say it ought to be a lot tougher to come by this year than last, and you can't expect a banner year for cash flow. But its not been my experience that capex and reason are always closely coupled.

HTCH is shipping lots of suspensions to TDK/SAE. I conjecture these get coupled with TDK heads and end up in Quantum, Maxtor, and WDC drives. I'm used to seeing TDK as maker of 10 inch audio tape reels which dates me :o).

Hasta luego.....Tom
