geez... the Canadian government made too made unrealistic deals with conquered peoples... (I'm not touching the conquering issue..)

The debate in Caledonia is quite possibly about whether the Canadian Government got paid for the Natives land and then spent the money. One report said that U of T was paid for in part with native money. I am sure they would accept that as fair trade.

The ipperwash thing is simply the Federal Canadian Government lying to people and doing what it wanted, and then refusing to return someone elses property. Ipperwash is a disgrace, it was native property, seized for training in the war, and then never returned. It speaks of the disgrace of both The Liberal Party and the Conservatives that they failed Canada's Native's by stealing their land, and then pretending they were looking out for their best interests.
