Re: US Robotics & 3Com merger........plus my modem pick.

Okay.....with all the attention US Robotics is getting, that sparked my interest to look up a company I once owned in the modem business. They're a local So. Florida based company named Boca Research,(NASDAQ - BOCI). Perhaps some of you have heard of them. Hint Hint.....check inside your computer. Look for the little card that makes obnoxious noises when you attempt to log onto your ISP.

BOCI has been kept down for months. Their most recent 4Q earnings estimates of .03/sh are waaaay down from the same quarter last year 1995 4Q earnings were .32. BOCI attributes it's lackluster ( oh I just love using CNBC words ) performance to high overhead, expenses - including a new enphasis on retail......as well as it's acquisition of Creatix Polymedia GmbH. According to a phone call placed to their PR department this am, BOCI expects 4Q revenues of $29,000,000.
For those of you interested in bottom fishing after watching a stock drift sideways/down for some time, then take a small bounce (8%)........you may want to check this one out. With a 52 week range of $7 3/8 - $26/sh......along with a juicy P/E ratio of 7.33, I find BOCI an attractive addition for the medium term player (4-6 months).

Regards,

Steve

P.S. As of this post, BOCI is trading around $8/sh
