Hey Jack -- I'm Back!

Read your cute poem:

If Father Terrence were God of the crabs
Would they be important or just in his labs
Would he for them die
In order to justify
Or would he put them up for "grabs"?

Here's my version:

If Father Terrence were the God of the Crabs,
He would release them from the Universal labs
Into the spacetime He created
Onto a world that's situated
Within the midst of logic and reality
Where they would pay homage and fealty
To the mighty Father and His Universe
Knowing they could've gotten much worse.

They could've gotten Jehovah or his Sonny,
Santy Claus or the Easter Bunny
Maybe even Pooh Bear and his hunny,
If Father Terrence hadn't given them a world so sunny.

Let there be light, let there be reason
Let there be no garden of Eden!
Let there be no fallen angels
Let there be no slippery angles --

Let there be reason and let there be life,
Let there be love of self and of wife,
Let there be no fake "original sin"
Nor sins of the fathers nor animal skins
Sacrificed in Father Terrence's name.

Yes, let the crabs evolve and explore their world,
Their solar system, their galaxy and then the Word
Will be spoken and found to be good
When Father Terrence sends them all on to Godhood.

Amen.
