What makes you think the Saudis - or the rest of the Muslims, who have a collective stake in the holy places - want Jordan involved? Is this a resurrection of the fantasy of Hashemite credibility?

I was describing a scenario that might happen if the Wahhabi Clerics overthrew the house of Saud. My reasoning was based on the geography of where our troops and the Jordanian troops are. The Hashemites had control of Mecca in the past, I believe, so they would have the least Religious hassle. No good choices there, Steve. We will do what we have to, only if forced to, in Saudi Arabia. But no way we want any of our people near Mecca.
