I haven't heard of any Affy acquisitions either and I've followed this stocks for several years now. On promising acquisition candidates for Affymetrix or any other biochip manufacturer, there is a canadian stock backed by MDS Capital. They did a proof of concept for Affymetrix back in January or so. There were rumors of a possible contract with them but so far nothing has panned out. The company is called Tm Bioscience(http://www.tmbioscience.com) and lists on Canadas VSE under the ticker TMC. quote.yahoo.com They have a forum on SI at Subject 15945 Check out some of the newer releases by them and some info I've collected over the past few months.
