This is what we know.
(1) That the earnings for the 2nd quarter from a year ago are to serve as a guide, i.e., that the present earnings should be closer to that number of $ 0.23 than the $ 0.58 of the 1st quarter FY98.
(2) Revenues should be flat to slightly up from the 1st quarter.

Hence, I expect something on the order of $ 0.25 to 0.30 for earnings and $ 800 million revs.

While I think the stock will eventually move up, for the stock price to appreciate short term depends on several things: (1) increased royalties from NA (2) good numbers on the dual mode Q, (3) possibly, a few major contracts, (4) continued won strengthening and any additional positive CDMAone developments.
Longer term includes the above and (1) G* handsets, (2) additional licensing towards a 3g system, (3) data. After reading that article about NTT DoCoMo starting their 3g system in 4/2001 (which will almost for sure be late), one must wonder what kind of data rate QCOM can accomplish by the end of next year. QCOM could be significantly ahead in that game.
