From a source I have, I have learned that the UltraSparc III is STILL NOT FUNCTIONAL - and it is 18 months LATE - and getting later. Thus - your speculations may prove very very accurate. Sun may easily "transition" to an Intel IA/64 customer - more out of necessity, however. Paul
